With the hotter summer months over I am now back in the darkroom on a weekly basis and trying to work on the backlog of printing. I am motivated and looking forward to printing. I have also changed my medium format gear for a Fuji rangefinder which should be ideal for my documentary style of work. Website updates are ongoing.

April 2007

Awarded a SILVER medal in the RPS Travel Group Annual Exhibition 2007 - Digital section. The image was Buddha encased in tree Wat Mahanat, Ayuthaya, Thailand

January 2007

Printing in the darkroom had been halted due to technical problems with my enlarger setup. I have had problems with the DeVere and printing 35mm on it, in the end I have sold the enlarger and bought a virtually new LPL C6700 on eBay. This took me until April to resolve and with the warmer weather my darkroom is shut for the summer.

April 2006

New website template purchased from AllWebCo and the website launched with this new format. Continual updates especially for the Galleries will continue. Changed my enlarger in the darkroom from an LPL C7700 to a DeVere 203 which is superb.

Big change in my equipment as I upgrade my Pentax 645 for a Pentax 645NII with more emphasis on quality black and white images.

July 2005

My trial submission to Alamy.com has been accepted and I now have the great task of scanning all my slides and negatives to add  to this archive. Digital Images will also be added. I got accreditation for the Salford Triathlon but weather was poor.

June 2005

First trip to the Farne islands with the RPS Travel Group, followed by a day at Holy Island. A great weekend with excellent images recorded.

May 2005

Wild Arena workshop at Knowsley Safari Park, excellent day with good weather and great access to the enclosures. Would highly recommend this and some great images.

Great news that Ilford is continuing in business which will keep us darkroom workers happy. I am now President of Warrington Photographic Society. Unfortunately failed my ARPS panel.

2004

Two business trips to Chile in March and October provided limited photographic opportunities. Decision was made in summer to concentrate on wildlife and nature instead of sport. Holiday in Thailand during April allowed for first ventures with Pentax 645. First digital SLR, Nikon D70, purchased.

 2003

Two press passes to Warrington Wolves RLFC during September, a visit to Victoria Baths in Manchester with the RPS and the Salford Triathlon in July. Also canoe slalom at Bala and some beach images at Fleetwood during work project. Darkrrom is being rebuilt in my loft with running water and sink.

2002

My next holiday trip to Thailand was in April with good Sangkran festival images. Two business trips to Gibraltar provided some travel images. Went to London to see Ansel Adams 100 years exhibition and also got some images of the London Eye.

2001

Gained my LRPS during March at Lancaster with my Student Games sport panel. First trip to Bala for canoe slalom plus Open qualification at Hillside and S&A.

2000

First black and white images taken during holiday in Thailand. Amateur golf championship at Hoylake and a trip to Oulton Park.

1999

Business trip to New Orleans in November but day spent in French Quarter. Rejoined Warrington PS and purchased first Nikon auto focus camera.

1995 - 1996

Worked in Bangkok on wastewater project for Bechtel, only took limited photographs during this time unfortunately.

1990-1993

Leeds University doing civil engineering degree, worked as photographer for Leeds Student newspaper. Weekly issue and progressed to picture editor in final year. Press pass for student games in Sheffield 1991.

1985-1989

Learning to take, develop and print my photographs at school.
